Long Time - No Update!
I always get a little sad when 2:00 rolls by on Sunday. It means that the day is half over, and that its only a few hours until I have to get up early, and go to work- but that does not mean I can just slack off with the report of the current events in my life- with bad grammar! I'm sure that all 6.5 people who read this blog will be delighted to see this entry.
Let see. Its cold out. I don't mind it. Its just when it gets really cold out, like say, below zero, when I start complaining. I also don't like snow. I've decided I should move to a place that gets rainy and only slightly cold for winter, like Seattle!
As for Grendel, she's doing just fine. Her current fixation is batting at Bentley's Tail. Its funny, the more she bats at his tail, the faster it moves, and the more his tail gets batted. Its just a vicious cycle. Poor Bentley. He just doesn't quite know what to do with little Grendel.
In my experience with Taming Feral Cats, it's incredibly easy to get them to eat out of your hand, whine at you when the food bowl is empty, and follow you around as you do interesting and strange things (like sweep the floor, or clean out the litter box) but when you try to get them interested in things like warm laps, or happy scritches, they will have nothing to do with it. They stay at this almost feral level for weeks and months, but once you get past that point, it is all smooth sailing from there. This is the stage that Grendel has been at for the last month and progress is almost nil. I'm not worried about this. It is the hardest part of taming cats- and as long as she's not hiding, hissing, or running from me than we are making progress.
Knitting progress- I finished a pair of socks- and I even finished my mittens. I would post pictures, but its dark and cloudy out so the pictures would look dark, and do absolutely nothing just for my wonderful knits. As soon as I get some nice pictures, I'll post them.
