Things I accomplished today...

  • Wrote Out Christmas Cards. I only sent out 18 of them, and totally missed the Quast Side, but I have to start somewhere- next year I hope to get everybody. I'm also hoping that the cards get to where they are suppose to go, but I've got a week before they are due, and my guess is the cards will start arriving by Wednesday.
  • Made Christmas Cookies. Orange-Coconut for those who want to know. The recipe is good, although next time, I'm doubleing the amount of Coconut extract and orange peel. Right now there is just hint of flavor, but I want a little bit more stronger taste.
  • Wrapped Christmas Presents (almost) - I've got one present to wrap yet, but otherwise I'm set to go! I spend a lot of time wrapping presents. I've only got a few, and I like to make sure that they are beautiful. So far, no one has commented on the packages, but someday... I'm hoping.
  • and Last but not least, I payed my bills. So now I don't have to do it the day or so before their due, like I normally do (and no, I've never receieved an overdue notice- Thank Goodness for automatic deductions, and online bill)

On other news, you may have noticed that I added reviews to my list of books I'm reading. After much thought, and deep consideration, I've decided on the Yeah! Eh! and Neh! rating system. Where a Yeah! rating means highly recommened, will read again. Eh! is: well, I Finished it, it was interesting, but not something I'm going to go around telling people how great the book is. and a Neh! reading is Unreadable, dry as chalk, why did they waste paper on this book! I thought about doing the smiley face system, like Em is doing, but realized that copying her might be in sort of bad taste, plus I really didn't want to have to code the stupid smiley faces in my blogger template. I'm lazy. I like keeping things easy.

P.S - If you havn't bought me my Christmas Present Yet, and Happen to have $66.00 I want, really really really want one of these.

So my vet said...

... that wet cat food is absolutely no good for cats. It makes them fat, and causes gingivitis. This is all well and good, except my two have come to love their wet cat food each night. Each cat gets 1/2 can of it, and it makes them happy, so to keep happy cats, but not feed wet cat food, I've decided to institute a real, non processed bit of meat instead of full-of-calories and preservatives but yet tasty wet cat food.

Last night, my meal was turkey hamburger helper, the cats meal: turkey hamburger (no helper) with egg. Of course Bentley sniffed it and walked away- and the kitten stuck her paw out, touched it, jumped back, sniffed it, touched it again, and then grabbed a piece and ran, leaving a nice trail of turkey hamburger and egg.

My meal tonight was: broiled fish. Yum! Their meal: the leftover broiled cod I didn't eat. Again, Bentley sniffed it, and ate the dry kibble. The kitten seemed to think it was newly dead, and went through the paw it, jump backwards from it, and then the grab and run technique she perfected with the previous meal. Now I have bits of fish all over my kitchen floor.

For those of you who are worried about the cat's nutrition: It's replacing 1/4 of their total food. Cats require a large amount of taurine to function, and I don't have the skills to completely replace their food with something a little bit more non-processed. I also don't have the time, not the inclination. As to why do I do this? well, cat food is only there to make people's life easier, not cats. That brown kibble they eat might be nutritious, but also not found in the wild. Happy cats = a variety of foods, and in mostly original shapes.

Ice Ice Baby!

Heres some quick thoughts on Icy Roads-

People who have cars in garages are more likely to go in ditches than those who don't*. Why do I say this? I had to wedge my toe underneath my front tire while scraping the ice of the windshield just to stay up. If I had a garage, I probably would not have paid too much attention to just how slippery the roads are.

*Said with absolutely no facts whatesoever.

P.S. This is my very first post in Blogger Beta

Warning on My Box of Christmas Lights

It's a good thing I don't live in California.
