Its hot outside. So in honor of the temperature, I borrowed, from the library, Some Like it Hot, an old Movie starring Maryln Monroe. I don't know how to spell Maryln. Im not going to look it up because its hot out, and you all know who Im talking about. Ive never seen it. It involves the mob, and a female jazz group. It might also involve crossdressing, but Im nor really sure. I will let you know after I am done watching it.

Love to Everyone, Carrie

Doing the Impossible- Finding pants that Fit

As you may or may not know, I lost one pant size. This was unintential. It happened because I don't like to cook, and I don't buy junk food, usually. So I tend to skip meals, and eat healthy. Its a good combination. But now I have a whole closet full of pants that don't fit, and pants that do fit (from when I could fit in them) have holes. This might be a reason I like to wear skirts.

So, I decided to buy 100 dollars worth of pants. So I stopped at the mall on the way home last night, and started off with Old Navy. One size fit, but if I gained so much as half a pound, not anymore. So onto the next store. It was American Eagle. I tried on thier jeans, and same story. I did try on a pair of kakis that rolled up into capris, and while they were a little too big, they did have a string to tie them tighter, plus they had this cool belt thing. SO I spent to much money on them. The next store was the gap. Nope, no luck. Then Kohls, I tried on IM guessing 15 pairs of jeans at that store. All in the juniors section. Left the fitting room, Lost my keys, searched everywhere, keys not located at all. Talked to the sales clerk, and nobody had turned them in. I left to go back to the gap, and There they were, except it took five minutes for the sales person to find out where they were hidden. Back to Kohls, told the sales people that I had found them, and onto the missus department. Again, tried on pants that didn't fit. So I left kohls, in a dejected haze, and then I saw the Buckle... and upscale, expensive store mainly dealing in name brand jeans. I stopped in. Discovered that there was a pile of nineteen ninty nine pants on sale. Discovered that I wear a size 31 waste pant. Tried on a few pair, and they all fit! Success! I bought the expensive pair of pants made by BKE, some sort of high fashion lable, for forty bucks. After looking at all those pants, and spending what I consider 10 dollars more than I needed to on them, I went home with a sense of accomplishment. My mission for new pants fulfilled

A rant on driving

Minnesota drivers are some of the worst around. Various Polls say this. IM not going to do a search to back this statement up, believe me, its there. What they especially don't excel at is using on ramps, and off ramps. It one of my biggest pet peeves around. I drive through the twin cities quite often. I pretty much go straight through them on 494 (an interstate). Its so annoying to discover that the whole traffic line slowed down because some idiot slowed down way before the off ramp. The whole point that the off ramp is created as long as it is, is to be used to slow down.

On ramps are a little different. My little car sometimes doesn't quite capable of catching up to the speed on an on ramp. I understand this. I try my hardest, to fit in. What really is annoying is spacing. If everybody left two car lengths between them, and the car in front of them, there should be no problem getting in. But this doesn't happen.

My other big rant is on a four lane interstate highway, like 35. They get stuck behind one car going one mile slower than they are. Say 70 versus 71 mph. Then comes me. I'm going a nice safe 80. The first car takes 5 minutes to pass, and it seems painfully slow. WHY would you do this?!!! It makes no sense.

My other big pet peeve is getting stuck behind a SUV. Although yesterday, what makes it more worst is a SUV with a driver on a cell phone. I hate not being able to see. It drives me nuts. Especially when the car in front is going slower than I want. I think this might be a control issue. I seem to want to go faster when I am stuck behind a car, no matter what the speed is.

and one last story, I was driving to my folks place yesterday, and I got stuck behind a van with an Iowa license plate. They were going 50, on a 55 mph highway. I wanted to get home. I was annoyed. They turned off the same little road that I did, and STOPPED, in the middle of the road. I thought maybe car problems, but then the turned into the driveway of a store, and completely blocked that. As I was driving by, I saw them pull out a map. This is not good behavior. They should have pulled in, and then stop. NOT in the middle of the road.

I hate driving. Public Transportation needs be established, so I don't have to get angry about driving, and save gas.

Downing Street Memo and the Iraqi War.

The Downing Street Memo was a memo presented during a meeting of Tony Blair, and his top foreign intelligence and policy aides written in 2002. When it was first leaked to the public, it created discussion in Europe, but was virtually ignored in the United States. It has started to get fresh attention, and American Media has been criticized for not reporting on it.

What this memo basically says, is that President Bush was selectively choosing evidence in support of a war. It was written by the English intelligence agency. President Bush says that he wasn't fixing evidence, and it doesn't matter anyway, because it was written before he went to the security council for a resolution that Saddam Hussein give up his weapons (which still haven't made an appearance). It seems to me that gathering evidence for or against is a war, usually happens before the war, so of course this matters! This selected evidence was used to support putting people's lives at risk, both American, and others. How can anybody be so reckless?

Movie Review - Stars Wars - Revenge of the Sith

Over the weekend, I got to see the new Star Wars Movie- Revenge of the Sith. Yoda kicked ass in that movie. I like this movie, but I didn't think it was very coherent. The scenes just seemed to jump around, and Anakin was a whiney brat, who acted like he was thirteen. His decisions to get on the path of the Sith was horrible. A five year old would be able to see throught that palpatine person!! What I want to know, is how did George Lucus, the writer of three of the greatest movies of all time, even think that this plot was well written. The whole ending was rather depressing, almost enough to give me nightmares. but what do you expect, its a movie about how Darth Vador becomes Darth Vador. I think it worked very well. It made a lot of sense and was able to tie the old movies, and new movies together. If Anakins descent was any lighter, it would have made a mockery out of the serious, and if it was any heavier, it would give the whole series a much darker feel. I think that this movie, while not up to original star wars standards, redeemed the previous two quite nicely.
