Photo Shoot with Bentley

I took half the day off on Friday, just in time for me to watch the cats follow one sunspot to another. I took this opportunity to take pictures of Bentley. It's really difficult to take pictures of a tan and white cats using only flash, so when the sun comes out, and I get a nice back light, I try to take advantage of it. Enjoy!

I'm not sure if Bentley enjoyed his photo shoot- He was trying to sleep and I kept staring at him! He was formerly feral, and while he has made great progress in the three years I've had him, he still spooks easily. I'm really surprised he didn't get up and find a more peaceful spot. Those sunspots must really be tempting!

I'm always amazed at how handsome Bentley is. He is such a beautiful cat. He's also very long - People are always surprised by how little he weighs (9 pounds) - when he stretches - his body goes on and on and on. Its pretty impressive.

This is Grendel. She's nothing but trouble. There's a love - hate relationship between Bentley and Grendel. Grendel loves Bentley - Bentley thinks she's annoying. I don't blame him. She has to be everywhere he is. She cleans his ears, lays on top of him, and bites him in the butt when she thinks he should be playing with her. It's not all bad- I've seen Bentley jump Grendel, and then complain loudly when she bites back- hard. She just turned one, so she is still very much a kitten.
See what I mean? She's nothing but Trouble!

Poor Bentley - not only will I not leave him alone, his little sister insists on being right next to him (notice Grendel's tail?)

Considering moving... with the start of a stretch, and the beginning of a yawn...

Looking for that perfect spot in the sun, but away
from flashing cameras and curious kittens....

The End.

Stay tuned for the next post- Making New Friends!

A quick list of things that happened since I last wrote...

My favorite team, the UMD Girls Hockey team, came in second at the NCAA finals. They lost to the Badgers, 4 to 1. So Sad.

Sanjaya is no longer the worst at American Idol. That title will now have to go to Phil. I still don't like Sanjaya, but at least he doesn't look like the Grim Reaper, sucking the life out of every song he sings. I've also changed my mind again, about Vote for the Worst. It is funny - and just about the most democratic thing in America as you can get - and no, I don't vote.

I've just sent out my 35th book at Bookmooch, and I've also mooched my 37th book, so its all even. If you have unwanted books that you want to get rid of, and would love to get other books- go join Bookmooch! Its free, with exception of the postage you use to send books, which is much less than buying a new book. I'm currently working on putting together a Google Map page that shows the location of all the books I sent and received, but I'm lazy, and it might be awhile.

My car hit the 100,000 mile milestone last weekend. It also got new tires on it yesterday, and apparently, it is going to need new breaks very very soon. All of this points to my long held theory that cars are a big waste of money, time, and space and that there should be a big push to do away with them completely. Maybe I should start a petition. Would anyone sign it?

I am finally recognizing when not to use commas. I was very bad at it before. I once went to my composition teacher, and exclaimed "I can't recognize bad grammar!", and he went "I can't help you there- you either know it, or don't". Consequently, I got a C for the class. Ironically, I got an A in my comp class at Grad School. The course was so easy, that I stopped trying after the first couple of weeks and still got an A. I'll also add that I didn't think I should have had to take it since I had already spent money on a really great composition class during my undergraduate studies that covered the same stuff as the one in grad school, and did a much better job. I was overruled in my argument by the head of the department. I was not happy.

I have decided that I need to subscribe to some sort of cooking magazine. I was at the dentist, waiting to see him, and I realized that I would make many of the recipes in the the Cooking Lite Magazine, especially the ones with pictures. That led me to believe that I would cook more, and eat healthier if I had some sort of good cooking magazine. I memorized the herb chicken recipe, and when I got home made it. It was delicious! and very easy preparation.

Crowns suck. Broken crowns especially. I was eating mm's and my crown broke the other day. I was sad. I managed to get to the dentist the day after, and I got in, and I got a new crown, and I don't have to go back, and it didn't cost me anything, because apparently theres a kind of warranty on crowns with proper cleaning and such. So it was okay, except for the drill, and the waiting for two hours because I didn't have a proper appointment, and I got a new recipe. so it could have been much much worse.

The End.
